Job Description

The Director, Process Improvement will partner with business leaders to scope, implement and execute initiatives that will deliver value-added services to the organization and improve overall operational effectiveness. Additionally, this individual will coach, coordinate and lead process improvement specialists imbedded within individual business units.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Work collaboratively across all departments and lines of business to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
– Perform operational audits with a focus on process improvement
– Document current processes and determine operational improvements/efficiencies
– Communicate opportunities and audit findings to all levels of the organization
– Provide a centralized view of project opportunities and help the Leadership Team identify, evaluate, prioritize and manage projects based on the organization’s business objectives and available resources
– Support business objectives by leading data analysis and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
– Analyze data and provide input directly as projects are reviewed and prioritized
– Act as a champion and change agent for continuous improvement initiatives leveraging the Six Sigma or other process improvement tools
– Partner with operational departments to develop learning solutions that build and reinforce process improvement, expense reduction and improved quality and service
– Identify opportunities to help business units improve results through structural design and improved performance management
– Develop and deliver training at all levels within the organization

REQUIRED MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

– Bachelor’s degree required (master¡¦s degree preferred) in business administration, industrial engineering, total quality or process improvement
– Advanced training/certification in at least one total quality discipline
– Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
– Minimum of 5 years of specializing in leading process improvement initiatives in a retail environment
– Demonstrated expertise in implementing measurement systems to support and advance process improvement
– Strong facilitation/teaching skills; previous experience delivering training to multiple levels of management
– Responsibility for multiple locations a plus
– Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced changing environment
