Job Description

On behalf of our client, we are presently recruiting for a District Manager to be based at their Truro location. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the District Manager will be responsible for executing the organization’s strategy within the geographical division, as well as lead the overall day-to-day management of operations in Truro. He/she will be a results-driven, self-starter with a “Can Do” attitude who will be innovative in dealing with problems and in identifying and taking advantage of opportunities.


Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Technology or Engineering; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
3 – 5 years progressive management experience
Experience in the agriculture industry is preferred
Demonstrated experience planning and carrying out duties within budget requirements
Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and decision making skills
Collaborative “lead by example” team player with a desire to win and strong motivational skills
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work variable hours depending on the time of year
Mechanical knowledge is an asset
Proficient with Microsoft Office software

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring efficient and effective operation of the Truro facilities
Providing direction and vision to the staff
Identify and implement Continuous Improvement projects to support company objectives
Assist the Plant Manager and functional manager(s) with: management of seasonal staff, production& maintenance planning and scheduling
Responsible for overall branch profitability
