This position will lead the efforts to provide effective management, planning and utilization of our information assets. This role will ensure that the information and data architecture is aligned to achieving the objectives of the business. This role will be instrumental in defining and designing solutions for transforming the company into a digital enterprise.
Reporting to the Director of Architecture, the Information Architect is responsible for the overall design of the enterprise wide data/information architecture, which maps to the enterprise architecture and balances the need for access against security and performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Development and management of the Enterprise Information Architecture aligned to the IT strategy and objectives of the business
Development and operationalizing an Enterprise Content Management strategy
Development and Management of planning to transform J.D. Irving, Limited into a digital organization
Develop and management of current, transition and future state enterprise information architecture artifacts
Provide guidance on overall information and data architecture standards, policies, approach, and tools
Provide strategies and approaches for data management of structured data, integration of data from many to many systems (Cloud and Non Cloud), and Enterprise Content Management.
Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure projects and roadmaps are in alignment with the enterprise information architecture
Position Requirements, Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline
Minimum of ten (10) years of proven experience on working with the subject area
TOGAF Certification is preferred
Direct exposure to the enterprise architecture planning process
The ability to develop and implement data management principles
Proven experience in creating and managing an enterprise content management
Proven experience in creating and managing an integration strategy for a complex environment
Proven experience in managing information and data in a Cloud environment
The ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and consultation skills
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
