MANAGING LAWYER

Our client, a reputable and thriving boutique firm with multiple locations in the province of New Brunswick, is seeking a Managing Lawyer to lead its Miramichi, NB office. This dual-impact role requires a seasoned litigator who can balance a significant caseload with the strategic leadership and mentorship of a dedicated legal team.

Core Responsibilities

• Litigation & Advocacy: Act as the lead attorney for all litigation matters in the Miramichi office, providing strategic representation in and out of court.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train a multidisciplinary team, including lawyers, paralegals, and support staff.
• Case Management: Oversee a diverse caseload, ensuring ethical, timely, and high-quality resolution of all legal matters.
• Strategic Growth: Drive business development and community engagement to expand the firm’s local footprint.
• Operational Oversight: Serve as a primary resource for the unit, balancing administrative management with active legal practice.

Requirements

• Credentials: Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent from an accredited institution and an active license to practice in New Brunswick.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in litigation with a proven track record.
• Specialization: Strong background in Family Law is highly preferred.
• Leadership: Demonstrated “solution-based” leadership style with the ability to manage competing priorities and mentor junior staff.
• Skills: Exceptional negotiation, advocacy, and client-retention capabilities.
