The Director of Business Operations is responsible for overseeing the business operations of the Moncton Wildcats Hockey Club, ensuring the organization maintains its strong leadership in the community and achieves its targets each year.

 

This leadership role is responsible for the business side of the hockey team, everything outside of hockey operations. This requires oversight and management of the business office staff, extended gameday team, season ticket holders and sponsors.

Qualifications:

 

Experience in a management position (Sports background preferred)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Organized to ensure all staff are executing tasks on time and at a high standard

Able to use metrics, analytics, and other useful data to influence decisions and strategies

Strong computer skills

Strong attention to details

Ability to develop budgets

Strong financial acumen

Ability to get results out of the team you manage

Key Responsibilities:

 

Management of staff to ensure all employees know their roles and responsibilities and are achieving them to their highest level.

Implement new strategies to ensure the organization is constantly evolving and improving. This could include processes that improve efficiency, reduce costs, increase revenue or improve the overall brand.

Continue to foster positive relationships with key stakeholders and the community.

Oversight and management of the organization’s budgets. Responsible for developing and executing the financial responsibilities to ensure the organization meets its fiscal responsibilities while delivering results to better the organization.

Execute miscellaneous tasks as directed by the team owner and president.

Foresee upcoming challenges the business may face and develop strategies to overcome them. Perform media interviews from time to time. Represent the organization in the best way possible with professionalism, honesty, and integrity.

Host special events from time to time through our league partnerships with the CHL, QMJHL, IIHF etc.
