BUSINESS MANAGER

Our client, a well-established Canadian based shipping agent, providing port and agency services to the maritime transportation industry, is currently seeking a Business Manager for their Saint John, New Brunswick location. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager and be an integral member of the leadership team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in developing the annual budget, setting goals and objectives for each department, and tracking departmental performance.
• Manage the monthly and quarterly financial reviews, comparing actual performance to budgeted figures, as well as overseeing both short-term and long-term financial and operational reporting.
• Collaborate with the analytics team to optimize operational performance through the creation of tools that improve dashboards and daily management processes.
• Partner with the continuous improvement team to ensure business initiatives are aligned with organizational goals.
• Contribute to and actively engage in business growth projects.
• Work alongside departmental teams to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring staff provides exceptional service and prioritizing customer satisfaction to foster repeat business and referrals.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth and process optimization to increase both revenue and profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience: 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• A self-starter with a results-driven mindset and the ability to act quickly and decisively.
• Exceptional financial and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
